How to become an Ordained Avatar

IMPORTANT: Applications are now being accepted and will be processed on an as needed basis in
the order they are received. This could be anywhere from days to months. You
will be notified when we have a slot open and asked if you are still interested.

Caretakers and Acolytes will be able to perform weddings by virtue of their
titles. However, a Caretaker or Acolyte may request advanced notice and refer
requests for immediate marriages to an ordained avatar.

"The Council on Marriages in Kymer" will make all decisions regarding who is
ordained, what guidelines will be followed and sanctions against any avatar
who misuses their position.

Any avatar who applies for and is ordained AGREES to follow any guidelines
established by "The Council on Marriages in Kymer".

The following are the basic requirements for applying to be ordained to marry.

(1) The avatar must have been in WorldsAway 30 days or more.

(2) The avatar must write and submit their own wedding ritual.

(3) Be trustworthy and of good character.

(4) Upon being notified that you have become a candidate for ordination
(accepted). A bonding fee of 1,000 Tokens is required. This fee is refundable
should you decide to no longer be ordained to marry. However, in the event that
the avatar misuses their position, the 1,000 Tokens will be forfeited and their
right to officially register marriages revoked.

(5) Submit an application (See below) via E-Mail stating your AVATAR'S FULL NAME
to be ordained (only one avatar per account), how long you have been on WA
(to the best of your memory) month and year are okay. State on an average, how
much time per week and what hours (WAT) you are usually on-line. Include a copy
of your proposed wedding ritual as well as any other information you would like
the council to consider.

(6) The decision on who is ordained will be based on meeting the criteria in 1, 2 & 3 plus the
content of the overall application, including the ritual submitted. Applications will be considered on an as needed basis in the order received.

(7) Incomplete applications will be deleted. All applications must be in standard E-Mail
format.

(8) Your application well be held on file indefinately or until called to serve.

All ordained avatars will be given a copy of the existing wedding guidelines
(See "How to Marry in the Dreamscape" )
and will charge EXACTLY 150 Tokens for actual registration of the wedding. However,
the ordained may charge for other services associated with the wedding, like
decorating, planning, etc. over and above the 150 Tokens. The 150 Tokens are theirs
to keep.

The ordained may also retain the 100 Token fee for reserving a locale for a
reception as required in the current wedding guidelines (See "How to Marry in the
Dreamscape" ).

Effective with the ordination of the first group of avatars, a list of all persons
who may perform and officially register marriages will be maintained on this website.
Please check this list before allowing an avatar who is not an Acolyte or Caretaker
to perform your marriage, if you wish to have your marriage officially registered.

A REMINDER: Anyone may marry anyone in the Dreamscape. These rules and the
"How to marry in Kymer" guidelines apply to those who want their wedding officially
registered and an official certificate issued.
